Information for reviewers
Manuscripts are sent for review only after the editorial and integrity checks. Reviewers receive a short briefing with the relevant reporting checklist.
What we ask of reviewers
- Focus on substance. Methods, validity and significance of the work.
- Fairness. Constructive, specific and respectful comments; no requests for unwarranted citations.
- Independence. Declaration of any conflict of interest before accepting an invitation.
- Confidentiality. Review is double-blind; manuscripts must not be shared or uploaded to generative AI tools.
What reviewers receive
- A briefing per manuscript with scope context, the applicable reporting checklist and the questions relevant to the article type.
- Conflict-of-interest screening before an invitation is sent.
- A limited workload of typically two to four reviews per year.
- Confirmation of review activity on request.
